RE: [at-l] weekend

Went out on Friday moring. Hiked in to Maupin Field shelter to clear the fire road for trail maintenance. Saw racoon, deer, ruffed grouse, rabbit, and probable fox tracks in the four inches of snow. Bright sun, clear air...very nice day. That afternoon drove to other end of section and hiked in to Harpers Creek to clear access trail. Got that done (except for the ATV driver traps). Some rain Saturday morning, misty with clouds slipping in and out of the valley, Hanging Rock and Three Ridges playing peek-a-boo. Cold Saturday night, and a real long detour south to scout some AT trail heads south to the James River. Great trip, nice bunch of college and ex-college student sheltermates Friday night, bedded down before we did! Well they were from Bill and Mary's Boarding School for Good Little Boys and Girls here in Williamsburg.....
