it comes from a misunderstanding(as i understand but that may be another
misunderstanding) . you can "talk" over the interent and avoid long distance
rates. they were trying to charge for that. and i believe they still are
it all seems kinda silly to me. but what ever i dont use it my modem is to
slow and i dont care to talk to people over the internet. that is what
keyboards are for. (at least his is my understanding)
