Hey,
I have tried to carry my recorder on several hikes. Usually I end up
dumping it at the first Post Office. My cheap Radio Shack model weighs
abt 8 oz. I will try again next hike to force myself into carrying it. I
always regret not having the tapes after a hike. By the end of the day I
tend to be to tired to write what little I can remember of the days
hike. Also I prefer to type with a spell check, my hand writing is
terrible too.
Woodelf had a neat idea to encourage me to carry the recorder. He
transferred some audio books to micro cassettes. I can lay in my bivi
in a rain storm and listen to "The Hobbit" or "To Build A Fire" or some
good old Bob Dylan music. The music audio quality is not perfect but hey
I said Bob Dylan!
