As a variation on this theme....

On my last day hike it occured to me that it might be useful to have some
kind of recording device on which I could make short verbal notes while
hiking, which would then be tranferred to my journal each evening.  Since
this doesn't involve sending messages home to loved ones, or long term
storage, I figured one of those little digital note keeper gizmos would do
the trick.

Anybody know anything about these things?
