[at-l] Some "advice" for you 99'ers

Man.... i let the email pile up for a week or so and get treated to
700 (at-l) messages in my inbox. Well, i finally got thru 'em, so now
i can give another "advice" installment for the '99ers. BTW, i felt
like i was back on the trail while i was down at Mardi Gras last week.
I stunk like hell after two days and walked more during the three days
i was there than i usually do in a week. On with the "advice".

Humus is the leaf and branch litter that lines the forest floor.
Hummus is a healthy and tasty lunch spread that can be bought in
powdered form for easy trail lunches (although it's hard to find in
Trail towns).
Nutrageous bars have more calories than Snickers bars.
Star Crunches only cost a quarter.
Little Debbie Fudge Brownies (with English walnuts) pack the biggest
calorie punch.
Split a (plastic) bottle of peanut butter and a bottle of honey with
another hiker, and then mix them together in two equal portions for
some pre-made punney.
The Hair Bear Sandwich: Take a chocolate Power Bar, cover one side in
punney, stick peanut M&M's all over the punney, and cover with a
peanut butter Power Bar. Sacrilicious!
Mac-N-Cheese Delight: Mac-n-cheese, a lot of squeeze butter, a full
sleeve of crushed Ritz crackers, hot sauce, garlic powder, parmesgan
(sp?) cheese, and ramps (in season).
Instant pudding can be made easily, but if you mix it up in your
Nalgene, be SURE to clean it out well afterwards.
Know the benefits of light packs, but carry whatever you want.
Two hiking poles/sticks really help the body out on the long haul, and
have numerous other advantages.
DUCT TAPE DUCT TAPE DUCT TAPE DUCT TAPE! Wrap it around you water
bottle.
Gold Bond Powder.
Don't forget a few bandanas.
Cream cheese stirred in to hot noodle meals is mmm mmm good.
Eat at the Home Place.
Stay at the Doyle.
Left foot. Right foot. Left foot. Right foot.....
Take your time.
ENJOY YOURSELF!!!!!!

That's it for now. Walk with light,
