I had several friends hiking in '97 who refused to patronize the Blueberry
Patch "on principle".
No alcohol, no tobacco, no foul language, no drugs.
Mandatory prayer. They (Rufus, Sam, Copt. Spalding) couldn't understand why
any self respecting thru-hiker would want to live under those constraints
even if they lasted for only a day.

BTW, Hot Leggs and I hit the motel in Hiawassee...
