I'm glad to hear that another enterprise is willing and eager to have hikers
welcome. Laurel Creek Lodge really got quite a bad reputation last year for
its shoddy service, surly management and high prices. However, i have to go
with Slyman and Magaroni on this one about Kincorra. Bob and Pat were
magnificent.

We also shared a meal with them and for an extra optional donation, Bob and
Pat gave us a barbecue with burgers and dogs and potato salad and watermelon
and AND AND AND! It was great and came on a personally difficult day due to
some difficult news from back home. It was clean and friendly and they
accommodated our shuttle needs handily. It was also my last hostel stop before
i made the decision to become a section hiker. My memories are bittersweet
about that last week on the AT last May but i cannot say enough about Bob and
Pat.

Another thing is that if you were hurt: emotionally or physically, you were
allowed to stay a little extra longer. I remember they INSISTED that Joyful
Girl (remember her? she got hit by a falling tree in a lightning storm and it
bent her external pack to pieces) stay the week with them to recuperate.

Now where is my exit picture from the end of my first year's section hike? I
think i owe the Peoples a picture! <G>
