[at-l] trail too crowded?

In my experience, hikers seem to move in clumps or waves along the 
trail. If it's just too crowded where you are, try speeding up or 
slowing down for a few days to see if you can get into a notch between 
groups. There are times and places where this doesn't work, of course, 
like trying to hike north into Damascus in time for Trail Daze...
