     I HATE this question! It always reminds me of high school algebra -- 
     which I did HORRIBLY in.
     
     OK. The $30 room was NOT reduced to $27 (3x$9), it was reduced to $25 
     (3*8.333). The regular SHOULD have given each hiker 
     ($5/3thristyhikers) $1.66666667 as change from their $10s. But 
     NOOOOOO, he only gave them $1.00, leaving 
     (3rippedoffhikers*$0.6666667) exactly $2.00 for himself. The slime! So 
     the hikers ACTUALLY paid $30-2=28/3=$9.333333. The question of where 
     did the other $0.66667 go? That's the two dollars in the regulars 
     pocket, gonna fund his night of suds at the Doyle!
     
     I STILL hate this question. Took WAAAAY to much time to figure it out 
     AGAIN!!!!!

Three thru-hikers after doing a exhusting 25 mile day in 100 degree tempetures 
checked into the Doyle.  The bartender charged them $30 for a shared room, each 
got up $10.  Having realized that it was a weekend and they were entitled to a 
$5 discount, she sent one of her regular customers up to the room to give them 
their discount.  The regular, was a little low on cash and decided to return a 
dollar to each thru hiker and keep two bucks for himself.  The thru- hikers 
were delighted, each had a dollar more and would be able to use it for happy 
hour and could get two more Yuengling drafts apiece.  
     
The thirty dollar room now cost $27 (3x$9 for each thru-hiker) and the regular 
had $2.  Which totals $29.   What happen to the other dollar?
