If I'm alone in the shelter, I sleep parallel to the back wall, head in
the corner with the most wind protection. I do this for all kinds of
reasons:
Further/farther away from the opening (wind and rain/rein/reign
protection).
Prop my head up for whatever reasons I want my head propped up.
Keeps all of my crap (stuff) from falling on the ground.
It feels more secure (I would more than likely hear someone/thing when it
got on the platform than if my head were right there with a bullseye on
it)

If there are others in the shelter, I sleep with my head to the back
wall, and try to along the sidewall. If the space at the back is too
short, I'll sleep with me head near the opening. Pokey could bump her
head on a shelter roof while still hiking on the approach trail. I don't
think there was a shelter we stayed in that she didn't send a little wood
flyin'.

Now, about that '99er stuff...
Since I finished in '99, was I supposed to be raising my hand, too? I've
been thinking about that register on Springer. Even though I was the
first one to kiss the plaque (Couldn't find my toothbrush), I was not the
first one to sign in (I don't think). It was either QP or Windbraker. I
didn't want them reading what I wrote and then copying it.

And, someone asked about goals...

My first goal is to not get divorced this year. Did that last year and it
wasn't that much fun. Second, I'd like to finish up my thru-hiking by
starting the Duncannon to Katahdin section this late fall. Third, I've
already started thinking about the next thru-hike, so I'm going to start
working toward that end. Fourth, I must make a decision on that
sex-change operation. I'm tired of having that over my head. (I almost
made it all the way through...)

So, I sez to Lulu, I sez "Look yonder, there."
