Re: [at-l] extra food

The lightest, rudest, most fundamental food that ended up in the
bottom of my pack was two meal's worth of instant rice with a couple
of bullion packs. I hit this "Eek!" bag about every 2-3 weeks when I
would look at my food, project miles and difficulty forward and say
"Eek!" It was just enough to get me through, but EXTREMELY light, so
it was never a burden to carry.
Incidentally, I ate this CRAP the night I climbed down from Katahdin,
and the next MORNING (Boy, that was hard to swallow) before hitching
into Milly-knock-it. I was totally empty, otherwise.

Skinny, underfed Sloetoe. Well, was then, anyway. Jeez, folks twenty
years! Even Earl was impressed: looked my up and down and said "Lot
tougher back then!" You'd know, Earl, you'd know!

Who carries emergency rations? If so, how much and what?
