Re: [at-l] new backpack

Have you figured out any of your likes and dislikes among the packs
you've read about? Are there features you particularly want? I
particularly like the expresso dispenser in my North Face pack, but it
does add to the weight.

In general, if you consider 2-3 weeks to be a jaunt, you want a bag that
could service for a through hike. In general, you want to go to an
outfitter, spend a good long time trying on packs, walking around with
weight in them, finding out whether your gear will fit into it, and then
deal with months of buyer's remorse.

The correct pack is very similar to the correct computer. It will be
reported in Backpacker 2 weeks after you buy yours. And everyone on the
trail will have it, and chuckle at you. At least you will have expresso
at each trail break.
