Thanks for the advice about vacuum sealers.  I did try two different kinds
last winter but neither one worked satisfactorily so I took them back.  (can't
remember the brand names).  Anyhow, I don't have to worry about that now.  But
the idea of vacuum sealing is a good one and maybe other people have better
luck than I did.
