Here is a prelude to a letter I received from Felix.  There's more
excitement to come (as soon as I get it transcribed #@%^&


Mother, 
It seems like ages since I last wrote. The war continues. Morale is at an
all time low. Just last night General Cornwallis called his officers to his
tent to discuss the problem. He liked one of my suggestions. We may try 
few things in the coming weeks to help lift spirits.

Even as I write this, I hear enemy mortars exploding overhead. Each time
one explodes, I think of you guys at home. Seems this war may never end. I
oft times wonder what keeps me going.

Tell Kevin and Carla I will see them as soon as I can. Tell them to not
grow too fast. I miss you all very much.
