Here are the others, as promised!  



VEGGIE BURGER
(serves 4) -YMMV

250mL (1c)	TVP
15mL (1tbsp)	onion flakes
		dried mushrooms (optional)
50mL (1/4c)	cornmeal
50mL (1/4c)	quick oats
15mL (1tbsp)	flour
2mL (1/2tsp)	cumin
2mL (1/2tsp)	black pepper
5mL (1tsp)	BBQ seasoning salt


To Pack:	Combine all ingredients and store in a resealable plastic
bag.  Pack along a frying pan (pot lid...-cp.), vegetable oil and ketchup
(maybe dehydrated -cp.) or sweet-and-sour sauce packets.

In Camp:	Boil 300mL (1-1/4c) water and pour over the dry mixture. 
Stir.  Cover and let sit 10-15 minutes.  Form into eight patties and fry
for 4-5 minutes on each side over medium heat .  Serve along with whatever
toppings you have.  It's enough to serve as a meal on its own, or use as a
side dish and pack the leftovers for lunch.


 
BULGHUR CHILI
(serves 2)

150mL (2/3c) 	bulghur
60mL (1/4c)	dried kidney or pinto bean flakes
60mL (1/4c)	dried black bean flakes
30mL (2tbsp)	dried onion flakes
30mL (2tbsp)	brown sugar
5-10		dried tomatoes, cut into 1cm pieces
4mL (1tsp)	dried mustard
2mL (1/2tsp)	garlic powder
4mL (2tsp)	salt
2-4mL (1/2-1tsp) chile powder (or to taste!)


To Pack:	Mix all ingredients together.  Store in resealable plastic
bag.  The amount of bulghur versus beans can be varied to your taste.  If
I'm (author) packing two or more meals of chili on a trip, I'll follow the
recipe for the first meal, and vary it in the second by using mostly beans
(eg: 1c dried beans to 1/4c bulghur).

In Camp:	Add 2c water.  Bring to a boil.  Simmer for 4 minutes and serve.



** Bulghur is whole wheat kernels that have been cooked, dried, partially
debranned, and ground into bits.  Because it has been pre-cooked it simply
needs to be soaked.

** Cracked wheat is coursely ground raw wheat that has had the wheat germ
removed.

** Couscous is semolina mixed with water, cooked, and cooled into small
shapes.  It too only needs to be soaked.
