One other note... the advantages of down are much more significant for cold
weather bags. A 35 degree primaloft bag isn't much heavier than a typical
35 degree down bag (though Feathered Friends and Western Mountaineering seem
to make some nearly weightless summer bags), but a -20 primaloft bag is much
heavier than the equivalent down bag.

boils down to is that if you are the type that doesn't mind the extra care,
down is warmer, lighter and more durable than a synthetic. But if you like
to
just throw your stuff in a pack, hit the trail and forget about it, then you
will be better served with a good synthetic bag. IMHO
