There was a nice story on Earl Shaffer's thru-hike last night on NPR's
'All Things Considered'. In case you missed it, it is on their web
site <http://www.npr.org>. If you go to the main page, then click on
the Search function, then do a search on "Earl and Appalachian", then
click on "All Things Considered-October 22, 1998, and then scroll down
to the story. It's two stories below "Felons and Voting Rights"... i
guess they did a story on Felix too :-)

They forget about his directionally challenged hike in the written
introduction, but i heard the interview last night and it was pretty
moving.
