[at-l] Re: In season



When I hiked in The Hoosier Nat'l/Deam Wilderness (in Indiana)
this past week, I saw a hunter - a squirrel hunter. I had heard
shots first at 8:10am, then a few more from time to time. I
figured it was someone shooting illegally, since I was in Nat'l
Forest designated Wilderness, but asking a store owner after I
hiked out that day, found out that it is indeed allowed
there/here. Hmmm, I'll be keeping that in mind this fall... 8^I

Also, down South where I grew up, coons are hunted with dogs -
lots of them (and noisy frantic ones at that<g>). Don't know if
that's the technique up here, though...

Believe I'll be carrying a whistle this fall, and a-tootin' on it
if I hear shots. Never have had the desire to imitate a sieve -
I'd leak beer<g>...
