I strongly suggest an REI or EMS or Campmor brand (cheapest you can get with
pit zips) Gore-Tex rain jacket with hood. You will want that in cold rain. A
poncho won't do as well for you in COLD rain. If it's warm rain, poncho or
not....you'll probably be wet. IMHO, it's better to deal with rain without
rain gear in the summer than have an ineffective poncho in COLD rain.
