Felix is so clever to have originated the word of the day as a flimsy device
for having to avoid providing the list with the usual witty stories we had
come to expect.  It was also clever for him to plan this fictitious thru-hike
to entice the rest of the list to entertain him with poetry.  How sad to see a
once clever mind whose spring of creativity has dried in the summer heat
wander around so hopelessly.  Someone clever with a cleaver might just detach
that once clever mind from its body and mount the grotesque head on a C-lever
as a warning to those would be clever hikers who'd try to perpetuate this word
of the day nonsense.  ;-)
