There maybe gremlins at work there.
I was coming up to the Siler's Bald Shelter, I observed a hiker out side of
the shelter. He was jumping up and down and pointing to the shelter. I asked
what was wrong. He said, he had went for water. When he came back there was a
Bear inside the shelter eating the hiker's food. The bear was happy, the hiker
was not. The hiker had got to the shelter, layed out his gear, layed this food
out to cook his dinner. When he went to get water, he did NOT close the gate.
In the Smokie keep the shelter gates closed.
