[at-l] knee support

Hey all,

Before my hike last week, I mentioned to my brother that I was having problems
going downhill from knee pain. He is the supreme expert in knee pain, having
lost a good part of his knee playing soccer in 1969. He suggested using an
arthritic brace. Reasoning is that knee pain without knee problems may be
occurring because the knee has little blood circulation and may be warming up
at a different rate then the rest of your body.

Suggestion was to keep it warm.....not supported. With lack of an arthritic
brace, and with his suggestion, I used a loose fitting ace bandage..with
plenty of sports creme underneath which I reapplied at regular times.

To my delight, this worked...I felt some pain going down, but not like I had
and was again enjoying the movement of going down the way I used to. After 60
miles, it still worked. I came home with no knee pain and hiked with relief.
