was this in 92 ginny?  i think i know who you are refering to.  i can see
him in my mind, but can't remember his name.  fitzsimmons or something was
his real name, but he had a trail name too.

i first met him at muskrat creek shelter, in below freezing weather.  he
didn't have much food left.  i gave him some, he was a thru hiker, right?
he blue blazed to rainbow springs, where i saw him 2 days later.  then he
hitched to fontana dam.  by then, everyone i knew that had met him was
irked at his freeloading and begging.  he made it back up to front royal, i
think, where he lived.  same guy?  sure sounds like it...
