[at-l] wicking fabrics

One difference in the different wicking fabrics is the smell factor.
I can't remember brand names, but it seems to me that capillene is so
expensive in part because it doesn't hold the smell the way some of the
other polyester type long underwear did. Used to be, no matter how many
times you washed certain fabrics, they still smelled like something long
dead and left unburied (like a thruhiker). I don't know which fabrics
are good and which are bad in this respect. Are the cheap ones worse -
or does it make a difference with the new fabrics? Coolmax is good, I
know from experience, but there are a lot of new ones out there. Any
stories?
