[at-l] Lady Slippers at Baxter

 A week or so ago a lister was wondering about the health of Pink Lady
Slippers, a much loved wild flower that grows in the moist woods.
 The woods are full of White and Pink Lady Slippers all along the AT from the
Rainbow Ledges to the slopes of Katahdin. All healthy, and wonderful to see.
  And now for a secret.. don't tell anyone!! At Katahdin Stream Campground, on
the hill north of the day use parking lot ( there's a little moose trail
between the boulder with markers and site #19 ) there is a 'garden' of Lady
Slippers. The Trillium have just passed, and the flowering mosses and Lady
Slippers were glorious a few days ago.
