I'll bet you'll run into a bunch of *very* unhappy hikers.
Many of us like mountain biking, but not on hiking trails
where hikers are trying to hike.  Also you'll encounter some
parts of the trail where bikes are expressly prohibited,
such as the "Great Gulf wilderness area" in the NH White Mountains,
and probably the areas in the White Mountains above treeline.
Yet other areas are undoubtedly completely impassable by bikes,
even the most diehard riders.
