I spoke to Purple Haze again tonight and he's hoping to be out of the
hospital by Tuesday.  He will have to spend a day or two in the area near
the hospital and then he will go to his parents for awhile and the

It would be nice if some of you virtual hikers who spend your time in
useless arugments over cell phones and trail magic would make yourself
useful by cheering up a fellow hiker who is off the trail through no
fault of his own.
