[at-l] Non-Speed Hikes on A.T.

So far this year, about 1200 long-distance hikers
have passed through Hot Springs, none of them trying
to set a speed record on the AT. They seem to be
taking time to enjoy their hikes, see many wonderful
sights, get to know their fellow hikers, and so on.
Earl Shaffer passed through yesterday, and, as far
as I could tell, he wasn't trying to set any speed
record, either.
