[at-l] Thru-hike prep
I've always heard that the more you do at home, before the hike, the
easier the trip will be. I'm trying to heed this advice. I've sent out
all my maildrops already. A pound of hamburger in each. I have a friend
come over and beat me with a 2X4 for twenty minutes a day, just so I'm
used to being sore. I've already written my journal through Harper's
Ferry (Man, watch out for what happened at Graymoor. Let's just say lots
of spontaneous combustin'). I mailed some gear back home already, just to
save the hassle of having to box it up in some strange post office. I
sent a clean pair of underwear in the maildrop to Hot Springs. I figured
I'd want a fresh pair for Springer, and 4 months is about how long I
usually wear 'em as is... Man, I feel like I've been on the trail for 2
months already.
Now, I'm making out a spread-type sheet with phone numbers and addresses
of folks. If you want on it, let me know.
