I just got a B&H Professional Photo catalog and on page 600 they list
Pelican Flashlights. Out of curiosity I weighed my Mini-Maglight. It is
5oz. (no holes drilled in it). There are 3 Pelican models that weigh less.
They are plastic (ABS Polycarbonate) and waterproof. Two are the same basic
light with different accessories, weigh 2.5 oz., use Xenon bulbs with 2 AAA
batteries and are 4000 candle power. The 3rd is .2 oz. heavier, also uses 2
AAA bateries and is 6000 candle power. Prices range from $12.95 to $18.50
with accessories which vary depending on the model but include such things
as a light bender, magnetic holder, shirt clip, a red lens, belt clip and a
spare "O" ring. All include spare bulbs and alkaline batteries. Half the
weight, no holes and still waterproof. They have a toll free number
(800/947-6650).
