	I have received my first blackfly bite of the season already. 
Unfortunately, it happened while I was mowing the lawn, not on the
trail.  I live about 20 miles west of Boston.  So I guess the answer is
that they are out already, at least at the lower elevations, which
probably includes the AT in most of CT & MA.
