[at-l] leaky boots! (fwd)

leaky new boots (3 months old). They are more or less one piece of leather
(Asolo 535) which as reccommended by REI I waterproofed using Nikwax for
suede and nubuck. They are definitely water repellent everywhere except
where my toes bend at the bottom of the laces, where the suck up the water
and make the whole area soaked.

Any suggestions? >>>

Emily,
I used Asolo 535's and a pair of 420's (or whatever the older version was)
on my thru-hike last year and did not experience the problem you are
describing. I would take them back now and get a new pair so you can start
breaking them in. Also, FYI, i went through 2 pairs along the way, and
should have gotten a third pair somewhere in New Hampster but i didn't
want to bother with it. Good boots, IMHO.
