I wonder how much of the "water contamination" you hear about is hyped up.
Up until a few years ago I never bothered treating my water. I looked for a
clear swift running section. I never had any problems and if I didnt have a
choice I really wouldnt think anything of doing it most places now. The
only reason I use a purifier now is because of some health problems from a
few years ago. It would be handy if you ever got in a pinch and the only
source of water was a scum pond or something.
