I believe bikes are allowed on all the rail trails. I wouldnt think that
back there, there would be too many but you never know. I dont mind sharing
the trail with some bikes as long as they are considerate (unlike many on
our roads). I always wanted to do a trip on the C.O. Canal but I understand
it to be about like trying to drive on the D.C. Beltway with all the bikes,
hikers etc. :-) After all the years of hiking up and down mountains flat
winding trail between them would be a nice change of scenery. I figure
maybe Greenbrier river trail might be an equivalent to C.O.without the
rush hour traffic. Last fall I really enjoyed our trip to the northern part
of Dolly Sods for that reason.
