In a message dated 98-05-02 08:39:24 EDT, you write:
<< I carry nothing in large quantities accept the band aids. Blisters
ya know. I carry larger amounts, by larger I mean maybe 15 or twenty,
because it seems noone else carrys enough and has to borrow so I bring
enough for whowever I meet that needs one. I discovered many years ago that
if I only carried enough for myself I would come up short as I cant say no
to someone if they need something. Besides they are light. Ya know I have
been thinking about trying to lighten them though by cutting holes in them
and trimming them down thinner .............. :-) >>
Make sure you cut holes in sticky part only...or the blood will leak out and
attract bears. Seriously though. I am printing off emails pertaining to 'must
haves' on the trail. Like water purifiers, first aid, types of flash lights
etc. Good thing I have lots of time to assemble it all. :) And too...my
first overnighter will be with The Redhead and she will have a lot of this
stuff. Everyone has been so helpful with tips on prices, quality and ways to
lighten the load, I should end up very well equipped but without spending The
Redheads whole inheritance. (Just part of it.)
