Re: [at-l] how do you treat your water?

I used a PUR hiker filter on my '96 hike and had a few minor problems
with it. The company was kind enough to send free replacement parts to
various mail drops, but that was sometimes inconvenient. Many other
hikers had PUR scout filters, which worked better (pumped more water
faster), had fewer problems, and were more compact. I've since switched
to one of those, and love it. No problems!

Filtered water tastes wonderful--"like a pure mountain stream," and if
you're gonna go on a long hike, is much better than drinking that iodine
/purifier tablet taste every day. Plus, it doesn't turn your pasta
purple like iodine will.
