Re: [at-l] cell phones

well folks its about time I say some thing about the cell phone issue.
The cell phone did save my life and I am very thankful to Ern for carrying
it we almost did,nt but at the last minuet we-decided to carry it just in
case.
Now after fithteen years of hiking though out Maine and New Hampshire I
never once thought about carrying a cell phone and thank the good Lord I've
never needed one at those particular times . But this one time we were so
far away from our loved ones
we decided to take it along. Our intention was to leave it on at a certain
time for one hour.

Only few people new the number my wife and Erns wife
this was just in case they needed to get a hold of us. This gave them that
option.
It made them feel better knowing that they could contact us if they needed
to.
It was just a comfort for my wife and Erns.
the phone became a very useful tool in saving my life. I did not expect my
appendixes to bust while hiking on the trail, but they did This could
happen to any body. I am very sorry if we offend any body because of what
happened
and because we used a cell phone on the trail But I can assure you there
are meny folks back home that our thankful that we had this life saver. Iam
thankyou Karl.
