[at-l] Where's it going?

A couple of recent posts talked about the possibility of visiting Oglethorp
and whether the remnants of the trail from there to Springer could be
found. I gathered that the old route is pretty much lost. I know that there
is a movement to extend the AT both South to Alabama and North into Canada
and I wondered..... If the Southward expansion isn't planned to go to
Oglethorp does anyone know where the proposed route would go? Please, no
flames from those who advocate leaving the trail as it is. I'm not
promoting the idea. I just have a naturally curious mind.
