Kiosk to Direct AT Hikers to Services in Cheshire

"The State Department of Environmental Management (DEM) will install a
kiosk in front of Leland Park in hopes of directing Appalachian Trail
hikers to services and business in town.  the two sided structure will be
located on the corner of Church and School streets, and will point hikers
towards grocery markets, restaurants, laundry services, trail-related
specialty stores, and public transportation services.  The project will be
funded by DEM and is expected to be completed by summer, when the number of
hikers passing through town increases. Cheshire Selectman Raymond Killeen
developed the idea for the kiosk, recognizing the possible benefit to local
businesses that likely would occur if hikers were directed to them.....The
kiosk will have a small roof and be seven feet high by four feet wide."
