[at-l] when to hike the green's and whites?

I am planning on a section hike through Vermont, New Hampshire and possibly
part of Maine depending on time constraints.  Would July or August be a
better time to hike this region in general based upon weather patterns and
other factors?  Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.
