I love these mini-updates, short, mostly sweet and to the point. Trail
Trivia! Keep them coming Pittsburg.

Sorry for such a lengthy post, Sly

 Observations:

Amy: She signed in on the 21st at Neels Gap and has yet to reach the
 Blueberry Patch...

Lone Wolf is out here for he says his 12th season...

Midlife Crisis left Springer with seven cigarettes. The trek is his
"quit smoking" program. So far, so good...

A young lady started her hike a few weeks back and became very sick due
to her overwhelming anxiety related to the experience. She went home for
a few days. She returned with a renewed attitude and has started again
from the beginning, hiking with a broad smile. The mental aspect of this
 thing is most important...

It has been quite wet and chilly out here, prompting at least one case of
 pneumonia...

There is a hiker named Procrastinator. He hiked from the USFS 42 road
crossing to Springer Mountain and proclaimed that he was quitting. Other
hikers told him that they were going to "kick his ass all of the way to
Maine." He took that to heart and is now moving steadily north...

The medical clinic in Suches Georgia is doing a banner hiker business.
Mostly painful knees, but at least one broken ankle...

Quite a few people hiking in bluejeans and flannel shirts. oy...

TIP OF THE DAY: make sure that your ground cloth is completely under
your tent (nothing showing). Mother nature loves to make you wet and
 miserable if given a chance...

The trail in Georgia is immaculate...

This seems to be a bad year for fathers. One hiker had to pospone his
trek because of his fathers death. Two others have had to leave the
trail due to: 1.) fathers stroke 2.) fathers death....

There is a young couple out here on their honeymoon. Ahhh... She,
unfortunately, has developed torn knee ligaments and is resting a few
days. Ohhh... He is most patient with her... >>
