I am a notoriously slow starter in the morning. Especially when the trail
starts with an up. I fuss with my socks. I retie my shoes.
Adjust the straps.Anything to keep from shifting into gear.
Three cuts from the Rolling Stones Hot Rocks gets me moving.
Starts with Jumpin Jack Flash, then Street Fightin Man.
By that time I'm out of low and into 2nd. Then comes the kicker.
Sympathy (symphony?) for the Devil. This is positively the most
kickin song I know. Awesome rythm really gets me moving.
It's probably counter effective in the long run, cause I end up
shouting Hoo Hoo, Hoo Hoo, Hoo Hoo with Mick and the boys
which depletes my oxygen supply, but I don't care.
The flip of my tape has selections to get me up and over whatever.
George Thorouhgood's, Bad to the Bone is good but way too short.
So I backed that up with some Janis Joplin and some BBKing. All
these have good rhytm to rest step to. None of this music is related
to the AT but will be with me when I go.
