Oh yeah, I received a couple of welcomes and one or two expresed concern over the Nickname/trail name of mine... SLASHER - was given to me in the military where everyone is called by their last name, so ya see slasher comes from my surname- Schloesser(no one can decide on how it is really supposed to be pronounced...not even my relatives pronounce it the same...)

It just sorta stuck.....it used to be SGT SLASHER, but I have since become my own person again so just Slasher works... No worrys, No fears, I am not a homicidal maniac (I have never even been to Maine...yet!!! But I will be going but not soon enuff!!!). Actually my personality is more akin to an amalgamation of Mr. Rogers, Ritchie Cunningham, Newt Gingrich, and Pat Roberts... So now you're really confused.... Oh well I best describe myself as ME!!! Sorry to write an unecessary thread off the subject of hiking, but I don't want to be lumped into a category of unsurly social degenerates,whom sometimes can be found wandering the trail (Hey we all sorta fit that category in one way or another though..)
