I'm not a DR. or a pathologist, but that won't stop me.
Concentration aside.....
One reason why it may be_different_is the chemical components
of our food. Shhhesh...ever read the backs of the packages of
food we eat? Precious little on there that even smacks of having
grown in the earth, let alone in the forests as is the food the moose eat.
Plus it probably has a higher fat/grease content than anything other
than a grizzy during a salmon run.
And maybe there's residual vitimain I or other medications?
And ask about why horses should be feed special diets if they
travel on trails. There poop introduces sometimes very aggressive
species of grasses into the woods

Why it may be more dangerous? Well maybe because it harbors
bacteria, germs, cysts, virii...whatever that live in people which could expose
us hikers to illness. I'm really talking off the top of my hat here, so
ignore the rest of this, but I'd bet that human waste is much more
of a threat to humans than is animal waste.
And _maybe_we could make the crittes ill. For example, giardia is
carried by beavers but doesn't make them ill the way it does most
humans. So could there be stuff we harbor that makes animals ill yet
doesn't affect us?
I don't know......just babbling...errr conjecturing. And NOT trying
to put a big guilt trip on anyone.
Signed Kahley .....who sometimes actually packs "it" out.
