[at-l] New Gear

Hey folks,

It is Sunday morning and I am sitting here by myself wishing I was on the
trail using my new gear. Yea, in the past few weeks I just went out and
bought everything I needed for a thruhike and I didn't even know I was
planning one lol. I am looking at my new gear and thought I would share with
you what I decided to get and what I found.

1) Bag - I have been going out some this winter and my good old slumberjack
just is too darn cold. Found myself a Marmot Pinnacle. It is wonderful.
Slept in it last night on floor (wish I had a yard). Got it as a second from
Sierra Trading Post so paid $247 for a bag listed at $299 in BP Gear Guide.
Can't find the flaws and is it warm. Packs so small I can fit in my day and
half pack. Only weighs 2 pounds for the short.

2) Stove - Got myself a new stove. My good old Zip doesn't work in the winter
either. Had to carry wood in my pack to dry out in November trip in PA.
Bought myself an MSR Dragonfly. Purchased at the Outfitter at Harpers Ferry
where Laurie was nice enough to give me $10 off. What a great gal. You folks
thruhiking be sure to visit her on your way thru. I think we are cooking
dinner outside tonight someplace lol.

3) Pots - Didn't need one, but the new MSR Blacklites are so lightweight. Now
I have multiple pots to chose from and I really like the skillet. Picnics at
Annapolis Rocks this summer anyone?

4) you believe this? I got myself a Dana pack. I can't wait to try her out.
Got it used, but the person I got it from obviously took great care of it.
Feels good on, but I need to climb a mountain with it lol.

Geez, I need to get out. Did a short 7-miler yesterday, but it just wasnt
enough.
