Last year, the first thruhiker to make Katahdin was a State Trooper from
Connecticut whose trail name was 'TrailTrooper', I think. Hiking for charity,
he did huge miles day after day because of limited time off from his job. Late
winter/early spring conditions couldn't stop him, and he improvised crampons
from barbed wire! I have no idea what my point is, I was just remembering! :)
about cameras- out of all the gizmos I'd have to say that a timer is the
one thing you should be sure your camera has... Like Jim, I also have some
great shots of my son and I, thanks to the timer and an ultrapod.
