Suggestions for traveling with a backpack.

1. Put the backpack into a larger bag (i.e. duffle bag )
     You can mail it to a town near, were you are going to end your hike.
2. Attach a tag to the bag and backpack with your Name, address and phone
number.
3. Put  itinerary inside the bag and backpack 
4. Remove any old checked baggage tags.
5. On a bus it is easy to keep track of you bag. When the bus stops, watch the
driver/baggage handlers unloading. If you see your bag being unloaded, notify
them that they are removing your bag.
