[at-l] Even More on "A Very Different Approach to Clothing"

Sorry, my previous message with this title slipped out of my computer by
accident before it was really finished. Below is what I MEANT to send:

There appears to be two US manufacturers making Pertex-Pile clothing, or
something very similar to it.

1. Patagonia
Patagonia makes what looks like a copy of the European Pertex-Pile clothing
made by Buffalo and other companies. It's a jacket called "Infurno" and
costs $250. They also make a lighter weight version called the "Zephur" for
$115 that uses brushed polyester instead of pile. You can get more
information on both of these products from the Patagonia Web site:

http://www.patagonia.com/
2. Marmot
Marmot makes a lightweight windshirt called the DriClime Windshirt. It has
VERY light fleece liner (lighter than Polartec 100) and a Pertec outer
layer. I've actually seen one of these at Campmor (where they were on
clearance, but not in my size) and they're very light and certainly
wouldn't cause any overheating problems. It lists for $119.
