No, you can't form into patties.  But it is great in stews, soups,  rice
dishes, Lipton Noodles,  mashed potatoes and gravey and just about anything
else you can think of.  

Also, you may want to try shrimp.  Just season, boil or steam, peel and then
dehydrate.  Makes great cajun dishes such as gumbo or ettouffe.  Mixes for
these can be found in your grocery store and are very simple, one pot meals.
