I must admit that I'm very curious how you got your pack down to only 20
pounds including food and water for 5 days. Assuming you carry a quart of
water (2 lbs) and figuring 2 pounds per day for food (10 pounds), that
means your basic pack weight is only 8 pounds. That's much lighter than my
13 pound basic pack load and it's the lightest I've ever seen. Even Ray
Jardine with a homemade pack and other homemade utlralight gear ends up
with a basic pack weight of around 12 pounds when he's hiking solo. So
you've made a pretty major breakthrough. Please share your secrets with us!
